This was a huge weekend-lots going on. It started with us saying goodbye to an old friend. We first met this friend 14 years ago when I was pregnant with Jonathan and Jeremy. She's been there through childbirth, nursing babies, Bible studies, game nights, movie nights. She's held her arms full of gifts waiting for laughing eyes and giggling boys on Christmas morning. She's even had dogs jump up on her back to get a look out the window tens of thousands of times, without a complaint. When we noticed her looking weary and her frame looking wiry she wasn't offended when we gave her a new look, she actually seemed to shine even more. But now it's time to say goodbye...to our old blue couch.
Ok, so maybe that post was too dramatic to document getting rid of an old couch, but it was an event. With so many other changes going on, it was a little hard to get rid of something else that was familiar. Jackson (the dog) is still mourning! :-)
In place of old blue, we now have a very nice brown leather sofa, ready for years of service (we hope!) And we trust that our old couch will go on to find another home and serve someone else.
Here's our new sofa.

Here's Old Blue waiting in the garage for the Medina Children's Home to come and escort her on a new adventure.
