The great EGGSperiment

We now have enough eggs from our own chickens that we decided to do a taste comparison. Michael, Jeffrey and Josiah cooked two store eggs and two of our eggs. Then Michael served them up without telling anyone which eggs were which. The verdict: Jeffrey and I both correctly IDed the "homegrown" eggs, but I'm not sure it was more than a lucky guess. The homegrown eggs did have a little more golden yolks and Michael said slightly runnier whites. However, the taste was very similar. I think maybe since we normally buy cage free eggs, there isn't that much of a taste difference. But it's really nice to walk out to the backyard and get the eggs! We're getting one a day right now. We think maybe Cheetah is laying (since she was laying before). Just gotta get the other girls in on the act!

These are our eggs in the pan. Don't they look pretty!!
