A BIG weekend-part 3 AKA More girls around

Setting up the chicken coop
Sacagewea was the only one who would come out for a picture
Jackson meets "the girls".

While I was away spending, I mean saving, money (see ABW- part 2), Michael and all the boys headed to Burnet, TX (after the mandatory trip to Schiltterbahn) to get a mobile chicken coop and 5 hens (girls!!!). They're names are now Sacagewea, Dorcas (from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), Rhoda, Rowen, and Cheetah. Rhoda and Rowen are Rhonde Island Reds, the other three Michael couldn't remember. Cheetah was already laying at Josh's house (the builder of the coop www.mobilechickencoops.com and owner of the chickens) so he said probably after a week here she should start laying here. The others are younger and should start laying in a couple of months. The adventure begins! Josiah and Jeffrey have already accidentally (??) locked themselves INSIDE the coop. Once the door closes, you can't open it from the inside. I guess that's so the chickens can't let themselves in and out?? :-) Today after Michael gets home from work, there will be construction to expand the coop. It should significantly expand the ranging area and give them a little more room to wiggle and flap around. We want our girls to be happy! Happy chickens make better eggs, right!

Everytime I think you can't write a better or funnier blog, you do!

They're so much fun to read.
