Meeting the challenge

Our dear friends just recently ended a year long soft drink fast...(well, being from farther north than Dallas, they called it a "pop" fast, but since these Texans consider "pop" solely to be the sound made from a toy gun or what we affectionately call our grandfather, we called it a soft drink fast). They were handsomely rewarded in cash from their parents, which sent the minds of our boys into action. They quickly asked if they could do the same, of course earning the same rewards. So after deliberation and discussion, the boys (with vary degrees of resolve) embarked on a no sweet drinks fast to be concluded on August 1, 2009. Though the monetary reward is substantial, it's doubtful if Josiah will make it. I mean what is a chunk of cash to a 7 year old when faced with kool aid or DP????? Jeffrey's resolve is only slightly more solid than Josiah, so we'll see how that goes. He does have some ways he's already planned to spend the money. That may take him to the end. J&J, however, have their faces set like flint toward to prize. No waivering! Michael's not even going to pretend to try. I'm in. I can still drink tea, just not soft drinks. I've just started the Maker's Diet , so sugary and even artifically sweetend drinks are off the plan anyway. Stay tuned.
